nona cyan's review on Mrs.Henderson presents

Been wanting to watch this movie since I saw the poster, however didn't had the chance (and everyone's just doesn't seem interested)
British movie + cabaret + tons of 40's songs + Dame Judi Dench = Nona Cyan's kind a movie! In addition, Will Young's character bear the same name as me.
Taking WWII as the time frame, it was feast for my eyes. The wardrobe (Viva L'art Nouveau!) was fantastic. The cinematography wasn't bad,but i guess they can do better (since the maker made Amelie).

Judi Dench acting was flawless (no wonder for the Oscar nomination),as a widow who wanted something to do after her husband passed away. So she decided to give a go in entertainment bussiness. The chemistry between Dench and Hoskins (he was butt naked in this movie, wonder was it a stand in?) was compellingly sassy. Quite amusing script, very british comedy, so, if you don't like British jokes, well, this movie won't be enjoyable.

When a friend got the DVD, my initial reaction was playing it and sing a long with any song that I recognised (that include "Goody-goody" and "All The Things You Are"). Come to think of it,it was better for me to watch it on DVD,guess those other people will throw their drinks and pop corn all over me if i saw this flick in the cinema.
