My initial comment about this movie was Felicity Huffmann SHOULD won the Oscar for this!
Gosh...she looks really authentic! The gestures,the face,the make up,the dressing style,the voice and the wee wee (does it looks like that when guy's peeing?).

Back then,my (personal) explanations for men who wants to become women were :
1. Women simply just have better looking bodies.
2. Lotsa-lotsa wider choice of wardrobe,make up and accessories.
3. All men are obesessed with boobies.

This movie just gave another (yet more reasonable) explanation,because psychologically, they're just : women. Stanley-turns-Sabrina (Felicity Huffmann) just wanted eveybody else,especially his/her family to see him/her as a whole woman. To turn himself into one, he had to overcome his issues first. That includes getting closer with his son (hence i can't helped imagining Chandler in Friends).
Toby (hot-hot young lad Kevin Zegers), his son has been living in dumpsters, and Sabrina's instinctively wants to get him a better life. I really admire her for letting him to pursue his career (even if his ambition is to becomes a porn star). This father-son relationship is weirdly heartwarming.
Some satirical humor are slipped here and there, like how's Sabrina sits with thighs opened wide and the GG (Genuine Girl) who dressed like transexual.

Can't agree more with the tag line:
LIFE IS MORE THAN THE SUM OF ITS PART
